There has been an undeclared tariff war for decades. America has been on the losing side. Auto and steel jobs have been lost as well as jobs producing Apple computers, televisions, and computer chips. It’s a small miracle that airplanes are still American made.

Thank you for all this valuable information and analysis! Can't wait for Part III, including your assessment of the US finally calling China with its tail between its legs requesting talks in Switzerland to temper the madness.

For some reason, my playback stopped in the middle - who else is listening I ponder :)

Bruce Pardy points out how our so called 'Country called Canada' is no longer the Country Albertans 'thought they knew' and leads into how it's come to be more about Socialism programming(?)

He's pointing Albertans out as "Nationalists and the Government are the Globalists"

Start at 10:30 https://youtu.be/CGs6c7n_myE?si=MhVjrwtd5JurWKhK&t=632

Pardy speaks to how Canada has become a Socialist Progressive Country ideas that have become deeply embedded in Canadians in favor of the IDEA of 'equalization".... redistribution of wealth and "we will own nothing and be happy" as you quote the WEF ...

The uncomfortable possibility that Canadian values have shifted... towards 'progressive' values... so how do we get back our self responsibility towards reacquiring our freedoms we once had?

Then Pardy points out what the 'cost of freedom' truly means:

no medical system paid for by the government

no single parent healthcare system

If you say you want your Freedom, but you want to keep the medical system intact, then, you don't really mean it!

He goes back to the Founding story of the Canadians origin story as obedience and to resist the Americans - it's under our skin apparently...

"Founding American Story is LIFE, LIBERTY, PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS, INDEPENDANCE"

"Founding Canadian Story is PEACE, ORDER & GOOD GOVERNMENT"

Pardy points out to be obedient, deference to authority and to maintain the idea to resist the Americanism.

Is that the palpability of how 'apologetically' we Canadians are always saying "sorry"!?!

Could another Trucker's type Movement - only from the grassroots levels, it's pretty obvious to me the one in 2021 was developed for the purpose of 'practicing' the 'Emergencies ACT'!

Could Alberta ACTUALLY be the catalyst to change the country - create the turmoil we need what we need NOW, to create the change we truly need now!

Would love your thoughts on this Cynthia, love how your concepts are generated out of love and philosophical approach like a Platonic Humanist - in spirit of generating our highest purpose and encouraging others to do so.

Great writeup.

It reminds me of the saying that "When elephants dance, the mice need to run"

I suspect that the Trump Administration had factored in a mass expulsion of migrants, legal or otherwise, to keep unemployment low, and wages high.

And thanks!

I will be unsubscribing as it is obvious you have truly shown your true colors. Your substack regarding Tariffs is completely BS. The Bible even speaks of tariffs and if you really understood the Biblical meaning of tariffs, you would know that in the past Tariffs worked. I don't know how old you are, but it is obvious you did not live during my lifetime that tariffs creates jobs here in the U.S., that income tax is no longer needed as tariffs provide wealth for our Country. You are more concerned of what will happen in China failing versus the U.S. becoming great again. We were warned about people like you. Very sad that you showed your true colors because I really did enjoy your articles except this propaganda BS substack you wrote.

Income taxes are fairer than tariffs as a source of income as income taxes are progressive meaning that rich people pay a higher percentage of their income than poor people. Tariffs on the other hand tax all people equally regardless of how rich or poor they are. It’s why the billionaires want to switch from an income tax based system to a tariff based one. While there are good reasons for fair and balanced tariffs to protect US jobs, wielding them as weapons to friend and foe alike is not the way to go about them.

Can you point to what Cynthia actually wrote in her article which is "BS" as you call it?

I would note here Paula that Trump's "justification" for his reciprocal tariffs, which ranged from 20% to as high as 49% tariff would ruin many countries' economies. And Trump knows this, that is the whole point why he thinks countries will make a deal. Because the reciprocal tariffs are not sustainable, most countries cannot survive them for very long. The US has justified this response as their complaining about having been charged tariffs by other countries. So apparently Trump is only for US tariffs...
