Interesting interview. Churchill's fears about Russia's potential aggression towards Europe was justified in that Russia did not pull back at the end of the war but kept all the countries it had rolled through on its way to Berlin as satellites. Had the Americans, Brits and the French not been in western Germany the Russians would certainly have taken the entire country. Whether Russia would have continued to move past Germany is unknown. They probably wouldn't have but we can't know that. Russia did not relinquish heavy handed control over the East bloc countries until their regime crumbled in 1989. (I know it is the USSR but have used "Russia."
